Get your first monitor running in under 2 minutes.
Create a URL Monitor
The fastest way to start monitoring is with a simple URL check.
Step 1: Navigate to Monitors
- Log in to your tracer dashboard
- Click Uptime in the sidebar
- Click New Monitor → URL Monitor
Step 2: Configure Your Monitor
Fill in the basic details:
Name: My Website Health Check
URL: https://your-website.com
Method: GET
Check Interval: 1 minuteStep 3: Add Assertions (Optional)
Assertions validate the response. Common assertions:
| Assertion | Description |
|---|---|
| Status Code | Response must return specific HTTP status (e.g., 200) |
| Response Time | Response must complete within threshold |
| Body Contains | Response body must include specific text |
| Header Contains | Response headers must include value |
Example assertions:
- Status code equals
200 - Response time less than
2000ms - Body contains
"status": "healthy"
Step 4: Select Locations
Choose which regions to run your monitor from:
- US East - Virginia
- EU West - Ireland
- Asia Pacific - Singapore
Running from multiple locations helps identify region-specific issues and gives you a global view of availability.
Step 5: Save and Monitor
Click Create Monitor and your first check will run immediately!
View Results
After creating your monitor:
- Go to Dashboard to see overall status
- Click on your monitor to view run history
- Expand a run to see detailed results

Now that you have a basic monitor running:
- Add alerts - Get notified when your monitor fails
- Create a journey - Test complex user flows
- Invite your team - Collaborate on monitoring
